Detox-Retox

Wake up without an alarm
This will be a day of zero harm

Start with berries and salute the sun
Minus one

Lunch is broccoli stew
Minus two

Snack on almonds and green tea
Minus three

Have a glass of red wine, a generous pour
Minus four

feeling relaxed and trim
enjoying all benefits
but how to deal with this deficit?

Finish the bottle of wine
And you’re still doing fine

The score is now minus three
So you can have lots of cheese for free

Once you retox up to zero

You can go to bed as a balanced hero

How do you know

How do you know which raindrop is the critical one

that cracks open the seed.

Never curse the rain.

How do you know which sun ray gives the seed the

signal to grow

Never curse the sun.

And never, ever curse the wind

the wind carries seeds into fertile soil

followed by rain and sunshine.

Watch your step, human, do not interfere

cat for sadness

tear drops on cat fur
disappear in softness
soothing purring

He looks at me and blinks
a cat kiss
empathy across species

we all feel pain

your colours

Thank You, my friend

I was in the black

Drowning.
Screaming for air and light.

Hungry for white, bright light -
knowing it wasn't true.

Because only black contains all colours.

Let me mirror the colours of you, my friend:

You are Ruby Red
for energy and uplifting spirit.

You are Azure Blue
representing the Dragon who controls clouds and rain.

You emit Cyber Laser and Electric Yellow,
to cheer up the world and celebrate human intelligence.

You are Cornflower Blue
enveloping me in empathy.

You are illuminating Emerald Green
for vision and understanding.

Palatinate purple
divine.

Twilight Lavender for a good night's sleep.

You stopped me from going back to black

I no longer want that white light,
as seductive as it may be.

When you are here with me
I'm ready for the colours.

You showed me the path.
You said you'd walk alongside.

So let's float, let's bath
and celebrate the day the old me died.

Let us soak, and dig deep
allowing the river to carry us.

Wake up from our deep sleep
in this river painted by my friend's colours

Refugees

A flood of refugees
suffering families fleeing their homes.

European politicians acting as referees
meanwhile my countrymen are throwing stones.

I am an expatriate
and a proud patriot,
but seeing a Finnish man
dressed as Ku Klux Klan
in the international news
blows my fuse
and throws me into a refugee's shoes.

I don't know the solution
the European politicians, elected to decide
are still struggling with simple air pollution
and trying to choose the right side.

They talk about the costs -
As if tormented humans were moths,
how most economically to eradicate
or fairly allocate.

They supposedly have access to all facts
so I forgive my own ignorance.
We still cannot turn our backs
or prop up fences of defense.
Political history leaves deep tracks.

It tears me apart
but here's what I know in my heart:
We humans do not ignore suffering
we do not ignore a person hungering
we humans do not let people die
and we do not turn our backs on a baby's cry.

When your past catches up with you

What are you running from
do you really think you can hide.

What if you run faster than anyone
or become invisible
- a smiley positive.

Your past will still catch up with you.

Past raw gentle truth.

Your past is gentle in its truth
and it is patient
it waits until you are ready -

ready to carry the burden
ready to feel pain
and ready to face the shame.

Then hits you with full force.

Your past is raw with its truth
it tears up all old scars
the ones you thought had already healed
and those you didn't know existed

you will bleed again.

And you will doubt yourself,
regret every choice
there is a voice in your head,
telling you you did wrong
but here is an another voice;
the voice of your heart, spirit and soul.

Listen selectively.

This is your new source of strength now
opening your eyes to what is real and meaningful.

Your new insight into the human soul's ugliness
will make you doubt, cry, and vomit
and you learn
that behind every action there is a motive
and those motives are understandable,
sometimes even noble.

Cherish the truth,
welcome your bleeding scars.
They make you human.

Peace dove poem

In the pale light of the midwinter sun
mourning doves fly.

Black flock resting -a weighty covey
bending down the weak branches of a young pine.
Their long journey has only just began.

In the heart of one, a flicker of hope suddenly shine.
He leaves the flock without a farewell.
Lonesome pigeon on icy beach
gazes at the vast sea.

And as if hearing a prophesy-
senses the season's cycles, life's eternity
and despite a broken wing
and his heart by loneliness torn;
encouraged by the forthcoming spring
a peace dove is born.

A Tribute to Ch'i

Ch'i comes and Ch'i goes
but no-one really knows
how precisely Ch'i flows.

But the Woman who things broken and seemingly grouse
repairs, recycles -and when She must, even throws.

She, who intuitively just knows,
and to no human invented "- ism" bows.

She, who polishes her floor until it glows
and neatly places the rice bowls.

She unconditionally enhances all of her family goals
and simultaneously nurtures her ancestor's souls.

Evil Spring

Spring is mean,
overoptimistic
and naive.

Personified in the Azure Dragon
comes strapped to a wagon
of bright light obscene
irritating my nerve ends
causing synaptic mayhem.

The majestic polar bear must give way for
idiotic bouncy Easter rabbits
because the perma ice is cracking
under his enormous paws
as the world around him thaws.

The birds are singing
their hysterical cacophony
once again spring is bringing
exaggerated frivolity.

Spring comes too fast
and with a light much too harsh
shining from an odd angle
bringing out all imperfections
accentuating dirt and spots,
ignorant of- and even mocking my slowness
too much for my sleepy senses.

Let me linger a little longer
hibernate here and try to become stronger.

Spring is weak and despicable
yet unpredictable
spotting what should be a lush green lawn
with dots of yellow pus made of dandelion.

Spring brings chaos and disorder
to winter's fuzzy cosiness
candles shine bright no more
and the earthy warm colours of winter decor
lose their might
as spring wins the fight.

All that frenetic sprouting
white snow melts away to expose particles of disgust
and dirty windows are shouting
and the air is saturated with asthma-attack dust

Fairies don't wear fur
they're all hiding and waiting for the Vermilion Bird.

Friend-Day poem

To my friends

„Humans have no fur so they need friends“

My web of friends

woven into my life

the fabric it brings

of mulberry silk strings

knitted into a protective cloth

- A Kevlar vest for tough times.

Making me, molding me

always protecting me

Creating a beautifully patterned fabric

Vane velvet mixed with earthy hemp

Sexy spandex for acrylic afternoons.

Woolsock-warm, the cosy people.

Daily wear cotton

soft and durable, the kind that takes any tear

those are my closest friends, very dear

the ones I can stain with my pain.

You all mean something to me

and you defeat humankind’s strongest fear,

- which is indifference

by giving my life’s fabric its unique consistence

with a delicate braiding of lace -

to remind of the preciousness of life and space.

No harsh tags or itchy labels à la H&M

my friend’s fabric has no beginning or an end

Thank you, for being my friend!

Mermaid poem

So what?

So what if I'm a Mermaid?

Strangled by seaweed
going down because of male greed.

Look at my little sister
there she sits on a cold stone
she was a fearless maid, now sinister
once upon a time we saw how the lucky planets on her shone
now she freezes down to the bone
in Denmark.

She's raped, cold and old.

Old cold stone.

Exposed to every hungry look
A tsunami the shores of earth shook
many years before  Andersen wrote about her virginity lost
My sister, she will never defrost
and for me, there is no going back
from this god forgotten wrack.

A man stepped ashore
We thought he was hoping to score
but he showed me his true colours
and we became lovers.

Humans are ignorant
virgins aren't always innocent
their souls lost in the murk.

We Mermaids don't do homework.

So what if I'm a Mermaid?

What is the Cat thinking

What is the cat thinking
whilst staring into the emptiness
almost without blinking
does he suffer from the loneliness
inevitable to a solitary species
that cannot be confined by leashes.

When he looks at his human, what does he see
a servant, a soul-mate or a trustee.

What does the cat see in a child
a nuisance, or a playmate wild
something to fear
or a companion to cheer.
Is the cat's patience with people small
a sign of self-preservation or is it sympathy, after all?

How can he place himself
onto any old shelf
like an ornament
his little body like a small monument
a feng shui incarnation
such a perfectly divine creation.

For the human eye so pleasant
in his every move and posture
even when no witness is present
this elegance to capture.
